Following a car accident leaving your father dead and you in the hospital, you spend months trying to cope with the loss and distancing yourself from your family. After realizing how much you have lost touch with your friends and family you decide it's time to make a change. Going with a friend to party to celebrate your last year of school and drinking too much you find yourself in a field with no clue what has happened aside from being attacked by an unknown person. The following day you decide it's time to visit your father's grave. Finding a ring he once wore a shot rings out. Some time later you awaken, still in the cemetery and following the shortest route you know come across your father's truck oddly still against the tree it struck months earlier. While studying the truck your sister/brother arrives urging you to come home. As you talk with her/him, another person attempts to end your lives. Overcome with rage you instinctively bite your attacker and toss her aside, awakening the monster inside. After saving your sister/brother and yourself, you begin to realize just what has happened. The following day you confront your mother and learn about your past. Despite your anger after learning that your entire life was a lie, constructed to appear as the perfect family, you realize that you cannot stay where you are. After packing what you need you travel across the country to the only place where your supposed parents spent many years of their lives. Within the first couple of days, you meet two young women who seem awfully familiar to you and getting some idea of the town around you.
